SoIL-Online is a community service Web site focused on contributing to the cultural and economic prosperity of the 21 southernmost counties of Illinois and Centralia. Our site is designed to assist both residents of and visitors to the region with information about the Southern Illinois area including products and services available in the area.

Our mission for SoIL-Online includes the following:

1. Create a sense of Community throughout the region;
2. Create a greater awareness among the region’s population of just how much collective natural beauty and historic worth the area has to offer;
3. Promote the ongoing tourism effort for the region by way of the information presented on the site;
4. Provide our Users with accurate and useful information and services;
5. Provide an affordable and effective advertising medium for particularly the small businesses in the region.

We encourage all of our Users to join in and help make SoIL-Online the best community service resource in Southern Illinois by offering ideas about how we can better represent your specific area of the region as well as information suitable for the various sections of the site, and also by submitting content for the community-driven areas of the site including the Event Calendar, Forum, Photo Gallery and Recipe Exchange.
